2001 Season Review
What do you do if a team of Alligators asks to join your league? Well if you already have Stain Devils, Dare Devils, Beavers, Harriers and Greensox! you say yes, as long as they don't eat the opposition! So with the Alligators being the latest "franchise" team in the Oxfordshire Softball League (OSL) we have six teams to compete for the league title this season.
After the early season wash out last season we are anticipating a better start to our pre-season Grapefruit League programme. Taken from the Major League Baseball pre-season camps in Florida, we have the same, just colder and wetter!
The great thing about playing softball in Oxfordshire is that we have a home ground that will easily accommodate three games in one evening, and we have ample local pubs nearby.
This season will also see the launch of our new Web site, we don't know the exact address yet, but give it a few months and then search our League name and you should find us. Also new for this season will be the OSL official tee-shirt. This exclusive shirt will be available to order for those in the League. If anyone in other leagues would like to purchase one then get in touch and we will send details.
Finally, if you have to move and find yourself living in Oxfordshire, please get in touch as we already have several players from other leagues playing in the OSL.
